There will come a time, you’ll see, with no more tears.
And love will not break your heart, but dismiss your fears.
Get over your hill and see what you find there,
With grace in your heart and flowers in your hair.

Lunar Eclipse

Totality Phase

3:04 AM ~ December 21st, 2010

Atlanta, Georgia, USA

The last time a Lunar Eclipse occurred during the Winter Solstice was in 1638. The next time will be on Dec. 21, 2094

A lunar eclipse takes place when the sun, earth and moon are all perfectly aligned with the Earth in the middle. When the moon passes behind the earth, the sun’s rays are blocked from striking the moon directly but create an eerie hue as they pass through earth’s atmosphere onto the moon. This can only occur when the moon is full.

Unlike a solar eclipse, which can only be seen for a few moments from any specific spot, a lunar eclipse can be viewed for several hours.
